The Brisbane Heat have signed England left-arm spinner Stephen Parry for the remainder of the Big Bash League (BBL).

Parry, who has represented England in two ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals, will replace New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori since he has been called up for international duty.

Parry will arrive in Brisbane later this week and is expected to be available for the team’s match against the Sydney Sixers at the Gabba on Sunday.

“He’s a good lad and a seasoned competitor for Lancashire,” Heat head coach Stuart Law said. “He’s a solid all-round cricketer so we expect him to slot in and play a similar role as the one Dan performed for us.”
