Former Nottinghamshire pace bowler Andy Pick has been appointed as Afghanistan’s bowling coach ahead of the 2015 World Cup.

Pick will join the national team later this week in the United Arab Emirates, where they are scheduled to play matches against Scotland and Ireland.

“We hope to see his skills [being replicated by] our national team players,” Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) chairman Nasimullah Danish said. “We have observed Andy’s career graph as a successful coach and then we came up with this decision collectively. The board is very thankful and fortunate to have him.”
