Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim injured his right shoulder during a training session with his Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League side, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club.
Rahim suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly on his shoulder while playing football on Thursday.
Even though it was the same shoulder Rahim injured early last year, Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) senior physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury stated that there was nothing to be alarmed about.
However, Chowdhury added that Rahim will undergo a scan today as a precautionary measure.
“He had a problem in his shoulder,” Chowdhury said. “At times his shoulder gets a jolt when he dives but [it] never got dislocated. The same has happened today. We will conduct a scan on Saturday. After which, we will understand how serious the injury is. But I have seen what has happened, and it didn’t seem too serious. There’s nothing to worry [about]. It might take him a week to recover.”
