Uncapped left-arm pace bowler Kenroy Peters as been called up as Kemar Roach’s replacement for the West Indies’ ongoing Test series against South Africa.
Roach, who has returned home, was ruled out for the remainder of the series after injuring his ankle on the first day of the first Test in Centurion.
Peters, 32, has taken 190 wickets in 62 first-class matches at an incredible average of 20.21. In fact, he was the top wicket-taker in the 2013-14 Regional Four Day Competition as he snapped up 40 wickets for the Windward Islands at an astounding average of 12.75.
He has carried his success with the ball into this season as well as he has claimed 13 wickets, which included a five-wicket haul against Guyana last month, in four matches at an average of 19.38.
The second Test between South Africa and the West Indies gets underway on Boxing Day in Port Elizabeth.
