India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been cut from the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s roster following his mediocre Indian Premier League (IPL) season this year.
Singh, who was the most expensive player in this year’s IPL, scored 376 runs, which included three half-centuries, at an average of 34. He also took five wickets at an average of 37.40.
Since the Royal Challengers Bangalore paid Rs 14 crores ($2.33 million) for Singh, they will now be able to spend that money during the 2015 IPL auction.
However, Singh may play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore again next year since it is understood that the franchise may attempt to buy him back for a smaller amount during the auction.
