There is no doubt that West Indies batsman Brian Lara is one of the legends of the game, but how does he prepare before going out to the crease and entertaining the crowd?

During a Twenty20 exhibition match against the Perth Scorchers, Lara revealed that he continuously practices hitting a ball against the dressing room wall in order to get prepared for the innings ahead.

“That’s what I did when I was a youngster,” Lara said. “The last time I held a bat must have been some time in August.

“That’s how I did it. With a marble, or with a golf ball or a softball, I played a lot of cricket in the garage.

“So I just thought, hey before you go out there and make a real fool of yourself, try to get one in the middle.”
