Legendary India batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been honoured by Guinness World Records on their 60th anniversary.

The organisation handed out a certificate and a medal to 60 athletes in recognition of their sporting achievements.

“I’m delighted to be included in the Guinness World Records 60th anniversary celebrations,” Tendulkar said. “I’m extremely proud of what I was able to achieve throughout my career in cricket and to be recognised alongside so many other greats feels very special.”

Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday added: “Sachin Tendulkar is India’s most famous multiple record-holder. He’s also an inspiration to millions of people, not just in India but around the world, and we’re extremely honoured to recognise him in our anniversary year.”
