Sri Lanka have dropped opening batsman Upul Tharanga for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand.

However, they have decided to include uncapped off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal and pace bowler Dushmantha Chameera in the squad.

Opening batsman Dimuth Karunaratne has also regained his spot in the team after being dropped for the series against South Africa and Pakistan.

Veteran spinner Rangana Herath has also been drafted into the side, but may not play the Boxing Day Test due to personal reasons.
