India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been ruled out of the first Test against Australia in Adelaide since he is still recovering from a thumb injury.
Even though Dhoni is close to being fully fit, the national selectors don’t want to take any risks, especially with the World Cup just around the corner.
Since Dhoni has been ruled out, batsman Virat Kohli will lead India for the first time in his Test career.
Dhoni’s injury also means that wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha will get to play his third Test match.
