Former Bangladesh cricketer Ahsan Zaheer has passed away at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack.
Zaheer became unwell after attending his older brother’s funeral on Saturday and was taken to a hospital in Dhaka.
Zaheer will forever be remembered as the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score a century in a competitive match. He accomplished this feat when playing for Barisal against Comilia in the National Cricket Championship final in 1975.
Zaheer is survived by his wife and daughter.
