Sri Lanka spinner Sachithra Senanayake has had his action officially retested at the Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai.

With the results due in about two weeks, it is important to note that if Senanayake’s action is still illegal, he could be banned for one year.

After he was reported and found to be flexing his elbow over the 15-degree limit, Senanayake spent months rectifying his action under the watchful eye of human movement specialist Daryl Foster and a number of local coaches as well.

Following his intense remedial course, Senanayake played in the Mercantile Cricket Association tournament in September and October and took five wickets in three matches.
