Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf believes that current skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and veteran batsman Younis Khan should not be included in the country’s World Cup squad.

This is because Yousuf still blames the pair for Pakistan’s semi-final loss to India in the 2011 World Cup.

“We lost that semi-final because of the disappointing batting performances by Younis and Misbah,” Yousuf told Geo News. “They didn’t play according to the situation.”

Yousuf also lashed out at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan after he publicly stated that Younis should be in Pakistan’s ODI squad.

“What the PCB Chairman has done is to put pressure on the national selectors to pick Younis even though he is not part of the selector’s plans for the World Cup,” Yousuf said.
