Kulkarni, who has only played one ODI, has been named as Shami’s replacement

India pace bowler Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka due to an injury.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not specify what type of injury Shami had, but did reveal that Dhawal Kulkarni will take his spot on the roster.

The five-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka gets underway on November 2 in Cuttack.
