For the first time in history, Bangladesh have decided to employ the Decision Review System (DRS) during their upcoming three-Test series against Zimbabwe.
Prior to this, Bangladesh have never used the DRS during home series since it is extremely expensive.
However, it has been confirmed that the DRS will not be available during the five-match ODI series.
It is also understood that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will pay for the technology instead of Gazi TV.
According to reports, Hawk Eye, Ultra Motion and Super Zoom will all be available during the Test series, but HotSpot will not.
“We are introducing DRS for the first time in a home series,” BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told ESPNcricinfo. “The BCB is doing it entirely for cricketing reasons.”
