Australia head coach Darren Lehmann has announced that he is confident opening batsman David Warner will be fully fit for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan after he sustained a groin injury during the third ODI in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Warner has been rested for the ongoing warm-up match against Pakistan A, but was seen walking around the ground on Thursday.
“[I’m] pretty confident,” Lehmann said. “Only time will tell. He’s walking around with no dramas, I think he will be fine.”
However, Australia will also be sweating over the fitness of captain Michael Clarke and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh since they are both recovering from hamstring injuries. Clarke and Marsh both batted in the warm-up match against Pakistan A on Thursday, but were dismissed for 10 and 0 respectively.
