The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) anti-doping tribunal have banned pace bowler Umaid Asif for one year after he tested positive for a prohibited substance.

It has been announced that Asif’s ban will start from January 23, 2015.

According to a PCB press release, Asif’s urine sample was collected while he was representing Khan Research Laboratories in a Faysal Bank T-20 Cup match against the State Bank of Pakistan on November 29 last year.

His urine sample was tested by the National Dope Testing Laboratory in New Delhi, upon where it was revealed that he tested positive for prednisolone and prednisone, both of which fall under category S9. Glucocorticosteroids in the 2013 WADA Prohibited List

It has also been revealed that Asif’s personal performances in the 2013 Faysal Bank T-20 Cup will be disqualified.
