Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been reprimanded for hitting a trash can with his bat after he was clean bowled by Cape Cobras all-rounder Sybrand Engelbrecht for 23.
Even though Maxwell was dismissed for 23, his team still went on to win the match by seven wickets.
Maxwell, who was charged with a Level 1 offence, pleaded guilty to breaching Article 1.2 of the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) Code of Behaviour, which relates to abuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground equipment and fixtures and fittings.
After the match, Maxwell apologised via his Twitter account, saying: “Apologies to the fans for my trash can abuse. I had a long chat with the trash can afterwards and we’re on good terms now. #dentinourrship.”
