England all-rounder Ravi Bopara has signed a new one-year deal with Essex, which will keep him at the club until the end of next year’s County season.

Bopara, who was recently recalled into the ODI squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, made his debut for Essex 12 years ago and has spent his entire first-class career with the club.

“I am absolutely delighted that Ravi has signed his new contract,” Essex head coach Paul Grayson said. “He has become one of the senior figures in our dressing room, and is a key component of our side in each form of the game.

“He has been with Essex for a long time, and it is great news for all our Members and fans that he has signed his new deal.”
