The West Indies have recalled all-rounder Marlon Samuels, batsman Dwayne Smith and pace bowler Jerome Taylor for the ODI series against India, which gets underway on October 8 in Kochi.

It has also been announced that Leon Johnson, who made his Test debut against Bangladesh earlier this month, has also been included in the squad.

However, flamboyant opening batsman Chris Gayle will miss the series as he is still recovering from an injury.

Batsman Kirk Edwards and spinner Nikita Miller are the other two players who have been dropped.

Samuels and Smith will make their comebacks after missing the ODI series against New Zealand and Bangladesh.

However, Taylor will be making his return after nearly four years since his last ODI for the West Indies came all the way back in 2010.

Meanwhile, Johnson has been out of the West Indies’ ODI squad for even longer as his last ODI came in 2008.

West Indies ODI Squad: Dwayne Bravo (capt), Darren Bravo, Jason Holder, Leon Johnson, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith, Jerome Taylor
