Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has lashed out at the national selectors, stating that they have spoilt the career of his younger brother, Umar Akmal.

Kamran noted that the selectors have continued to pick Umar based on his skills as a wicketkeeper-batsman instead of granting him his wish of being a specialist batsman.

“It is not fair because Umar was not keen to take on this dual role as he is primarily a batsman and not a keeper,” Kamran said. “He was not keen on this dual role and he told the authorities but they still insisted he should also keep wicket. It is unfair on him.”

However, interestingly enough, Umar is wicketkeeping for the Lahore Lions in the ongoing Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) in India.
