South Africa and Cape Cobras all-rounder Jean Paul (JP) Duminy has been ruled out of the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) after succumbing to a knee injury during the recent ODI tri-series against Zimbabwe and Australia.

It is understood that the Cobras are bringing in 26-year-old Sybrand Engelbrecht as a replacement for Duminy. However, before Engelbrecht leaves South Africa, the Cobras will have to gain permission from the CLT20 technical committee.

Duminy has represented the Cobras in two editions of the tournament, and even led them to the semi-finals in 2009.

He has also played for the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2010 and 2013 respectively.
