England batsman Jonathan Trott has announced that he is available for selection once again after having recovered from a stress-related illness.

Trott is also hoping to have captured the national selectors’ attention with some of his impressive performances with Warwickshire.

Trott was not awarded a central contract for the 2014-15 season since he has not played for his country after leaving midway through the last Ashes series in Australia at the end of last year.

“The ECB and I have had our final get-together,” Trott said. “I’ve been signed off by the ECB.

“Whatever comes along with regards to selection, maybe. I’m not putting too much pressure on myself.

“There’s been some challenging times. Some tough times. But I’ve been available for a while, for the last month or two, I suppose, in terms of selection, and I’m enjoying my cricket.

“I’ve been feeling good for a while now. It’s been great going back to Warwickshire. The last couple of months with Warwickshire have been fantastic.”
