India pace bowler Mohammed Shami has announced that playing in England was an “enriching experience” for him.

Despite losing the Test series 3-1, Shami stated that he was glad India fought back to win the ODI series 3-1. However, India’s tour ended on a sour note as they lost the one-off Twenty20 International by three runs.

“It was an enriching experience and a first for me,” Shami said. “I am disappointed that we did not do well in the last three Tests but we always knew how to bounce back in the ODIs.”

Shami is now looking to take everything he learnt in England and apply it to when the national team tour Australia in December, and during the 2015 World Cup, which will be held in the Land Down Under and New Zealand.

“I’m sure the experience will come in handy in the World Cup in Australia,” he said. “It’s time for me to take a bit of break and then get back in action.”
