England pace bowler Tim Bresnan has been ruled out of the one-off Twenty20 International against India in Birmingham on September 7.

Bresnan has been sidelined for the match since he has not sufficiently recovered from a muscle strain in his right shoulder.

As a result of his injury, Bresnan missed Yorkshire’s County Championship match against Lancashire. In fact, he could even miss Yorkshire’s match against Nottinghamshire, which gets underway on September 9.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that there will be no one called up to replace Bresnan.

“Bresnan will be assessed ahead of Yorkshire’s LV= County Championship game against Nottinghamshire next week,” an ECB statement said. “The 29-year-old will not be replaced in the squad for the match providing there are no concerns over the fitness of bowlers playing in the final match of the Royal London ODI series who have also been selected in the NatWest IT20 squad.”
