Zimbabwe pace bowler Tinashe Panyangara will not play for the remainder of the ongoing ODI tri-series against South Africa and Australia after he was thrown out of the national team for “indiscipline”.

Panyangara allegedly shared a video of Australia left-arm pace maestro Mitchell Johnson’s bouncer barrage during the last Ashes series against England on the team’s Whatsapp group chat.

In addition to being removed from the squad, Panyangara was also fined US$1,000.

Zimbabwe Cricket’s disciplinary committee stated that Panyangara’s actions were “disruptive in the build-up to the first ODI of the triangular series”, which they lost by 198 runs.

While Johnson only took one wicket in the match, he only conceded seven runs off his six overs and used the bouncer to continuously test Zimbabwe’s batsmen.

However, Panyangara hasn’t been the only Zimbabwean player in trouble as of late. Luke Jongwe, the 19-year-old all-rounder, was recently fined his entire match fee from his ODI debut against South Africa in Bulawayo for allegedly breaking Zimbabwe’s 9.30pm curfew.
