Shaharyar Khan has been appointed as the new Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman after he was elected unanimously by the board of governors during a meeting in Lahore on Monday.
This will be Khan’s second term as PCB chairman after he held the title from 2003 to 2006.
In a rather surprising move, Khan, 80, was the only person from the board of governors to hand in an application for the chairman position by the August 15 deadline.
Prior to his first term as PCB chairman, Khan had a highly distinguished political career, including a stint as Pakistan’s foreign secretary from 1990 to 1994.
