The Antigua Hawksbills ended their eight-game losing streak by cruising to a five-wicket win over the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel in St Kitts.

Ben Laughlin starred with the ball as he claimed three wickets and all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite smashed a match-winning 20 to lead their side to victory.

Antigua could not have asked for a better start after captain Marlon Samuels chose to bowl first as Trinidad and Tobago opener Kevin O’Brien was caught behind off the first ball of the match.

New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor scored 16 runs before he was given out lbw off the bowling of Laughlin.

Darren Bravo only made 13 runs before he was caught by Ben Dunk at long-off off the bowling of Samuels.

Trinidad and Tobago captain Dwayne Bravo failed to save his team as he was caught by Sheldon Cottrell at mid-off off the bowling of Laughlin.

Nicolas Pooran mustered nine runs before he was caught by Dunk at long-off off the bowling of Justin Athanaze.

Following Pooran’s dismissal, Trinidad and Tobago’s middle and lower order completely collapsed as they went from 88/5 to 113 all out.

Laughlin was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Cottrell and Athanaze snapped up two wickets apiece and Samuels and Brad Hogg chipped in with one wicket each.

Chasing 114 to win, Antigua got off to a horrible start as Dunk was caught by O’Brien at fine leg off the bowling of Shannon Gabriel for eight runs.

Samuels managed to make 23 runs before he was caught behind off the bowling of Gabriel.

Orlando Peters made 19 runs before he was caught by Samuel Badree off the bowling of Kevon Cooper.

David Hussey accumulated 24 runs before he was given out lbw off the bowling of Cooper.

Cottrell only made three runs before he was clean bowled by O’Brien.

Brathwaite finished things off in style as he hammered 20 runs off just four balls, which included three sixes, to lead Antigua to victory with nine balls to spare.
