Former Australia head coach Mickey Arthur and current Australia assistant coach Craig McDermott have both applied for the position of Sri Lanka head coach.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that they have received at least 13 applications from candidates like Ray Jennings, Eric Simons, Paddy Upton and Lance Klusener.
However, interestingly enough, interim head coach Marvan Atapattu has not yet handed in an application to become permanent head coach.
“Marvan has still not applied for the post and today is the final day,” SLC CEO Ashley de Silva said. “Normally when a post is advertised you are supposed to apply, but Marvan has already done that earlier and because he is already in the system he may not have applied.
“Some have applied to become head coach and others as consultant. We have to sort them out by next week.”
Sri Lanka head coach applicants: Mickey Arthur, Ray Jennings, Eric Simons, Lance Klusener, Chris Adams, Craig McDermott, Shane Duff, Paddy Upton, Aashish Kapoor, Andy Moles, Mal Loye, Simon Helmot, Dave Nosworthy
