Kings XI Punjab pace bowler Sandeep Sharma has been ruled out of the upcoming Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) due to an injury.
Sharma is expected to be out of action till December, which means that he is also likely to miss the start of the Indian domestic season.
“Sandeep Sharma is one of the players who will be absent in the CLT20 due to an injury,” Kings XI Punjab’s chief operations officer Fraser Castellino told PTI. “Otherwise, all the other players are fit and available. Our coaching staff is keeping a tab on the fitness and availability of the players.”
Sharma impressed the national selectors with his performance in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) as he finished with 18 wickets in 11 matches.
Kings XI Punjab will sorely miss Sharma, especially since this is their maiden appearance in the CLT20.
