Sri Lanka spinner Sachithra Senanayake will get help from Daryl Foster, who is a human movement lecturer at the University of Western Australia, to fix his illegal bowling action.
Senanayake was banned from bowling by the International Cricket Council (ICC) earlier this month.
Senanayake will head to Australia in the second week of August with Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) head of coaching, Jerome Jayaratne. While in Australia, Senanayake will undergo a week-long remedial course at the University of Western Australia.
Foster has worked with spinners in the past and was involved in the testing of legendary Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan’s action in 1995, 1999 and 2004.
“Senanayake’s action will be scrutinised through three-dimensional cameras which will give a better picture of how much of remedial action needs to be taken,” SLC’s head of cricket operations, Carlton Bernadus, said.
