Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel opener Evin Lewis smashed a stunning 72 to not only lead his side to a 13-run win, but also snap the Jamaica Tallawah’s unbeaten streak.

Evan was brilliantly supported by Ireland all-rounder Kevin O’Brien, who scored 32 runs and took four wickets.

Jamaica captain Chris Gayle would have been brooding over whether he made the right decision to bowl first after O’Brien and Evan amassed a 44-run partnership before O’Brien was clean bowled by Andre Russell for 32.

Russell struck again the very next ball when New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor was caught by Rusty Theron at mid-off for a golden duck.

Lewis and Darren Bravo stabilised the innings with an 87-run partnership, during which Lewis brought up his half-century, before he was caught by Adam Voges off the bowling of Theron.

Lewis’ outstanding knock of 72 came off 43 balls and included two boundaries and an incredible eight sixes.

Bravo went on to score 30 runs before he was clean bowled by Theron.

Wicketkeeper Nicolas Pooran only made one run before he was caught by Russell at long-on off the bowling of Nikita Miller.

Thanks to captain Dwayne Bravo’s quickfire 24, Trinidad finished on 183/5 off their 20 overs.

Theron and Russell picked up two wickets apiece, while Miller chipped in with one.

Chasing 184 to win, Jamaica got off to a horrible start as opening batsman Chadwick Walton was caught by Dwayne Bravo at wide mid-off off the bowling of Fidel Edwards for eight runs.

Gayle and Jermaine Blackwood made up for the early loss of Walton with a 76-run partnership before Blackwood was caught by Taylor off the bowling of O’Brien for 28.

Gayle ended up making 60 off 46 balls, which included five boundaries and three sixes, before he was caught by Taylor at deep cover off the bowling of O’Brien.
