Sri Lanka pace bowler Shaminda Eranga has been ruled out of the second Test against South Africa in Colombo after sustaining a hand injury.

Eranga suffered the injury on the first day of the first Test in Galle when he tore the webbing between his thumb and index finger while fielding at mid-off. As a result of the injury, Eranga was immediately taken to hospital and required eight stitches to close up the wound.

As of right now, there has been no replacement named for Eranga since Sri Lanka have Dhammika Prasad and Chanaka Welegedara on standby.

The second Test gets underway on July 24.
