Somerset wicketkeeper-batsman Craig Kieswetter has confirmed that he will need to undergo surgery after he broke his nose and fractured his cheekbone and orbital socket.
However, Kieswetter noted that there will be no permanent damage to his eye.
“Injury update: broken nose and a fractured orbital socket. Surgery is required but thankfully no lasting damage to the eye,” Kieswetter said via his Twitter account.
Kieswetter suffered the injury after he was struck by a bouncer from Northamptonshire pace bowler David Willey.
There is still no word on how long Kieswetter will be out of action for.
