Sri Lanka’s batting duo of Upul Tharanga and Kithuruwan Vithanage have both been recalled into the national team for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa, which gets underway on July 6 in Colombo.
Pace bowler Suranga Lakmal has also been drafted into the 16-man squad after he tore his hamstring during the recent ODI series against England.
It was also announced that opening batsman Kusal Perera will play if he passes a fitness test.
However, there was no place in the side for wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Chandimal and all-rounder Chaturanga de Silva.
Chandimal was dropped due to the fact that he only managed to score 38 runs in three ODIs against England.
