England captain Alastair Cook has admitted that Sri Lanka spinner Sachithra Senanayake’s decision to Mankad England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler during the fifth ODI at Edgbaston will “spice” up the upcoming Test series.

Cook already expressed his anger towards Senanayake and Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Mathews’ decision to uphold the appeal.

“Probably, yes. It will spice it up a bit – nothing wrong with that,” Cook said. “It’s just important you let your cricket do the talking as well, and you back up words.

“If he [Mathews] says he’s going to do it again, it’s up to him. As captain of your country, there are certain ways you want your team to operate.”
