The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced that former chairman Zaka Ashraf will be investigated for the unauthorised spending of $200,000 during his 22-month tenure.
“The management committee took note of the outstanding arrears of approximately 20 million rupees detailed in the internal audit report for the period Ashraf was chairman,” a PCB statement said.
According to the report, there were several unaccounted ticket purchases during Pakistan’s limited overs tour of India and during the Champions Trophy, which was held in England in June last year.
“Tickets worth 759,047 rupees ($7,600) were bought by the PCB and there is no record of whom they were given to,” the report said. “Another 2.5 million rupees ($25,000) were spent during the Champions Trophy 2013 on tickets, again without records of the beneficiaries.”
