The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have called on the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to take action against pace bowler Stuart Broad for his comments about Saeed Ajmal’s bowling action.
The whole incident started after former England captain Michael Vaughan posted a photo of Ajmal bowling during Worcestershire’s match against Essex on Twitter and said: “You are allowed 15 degrees of flex in your delivery swing…. #justsaying.”
Broad responded with: “This has to be a fake photo?!” before going on to say “bowlers can bowl very differently in a lab while being tested compared to needing wickets in the middle.”
PCB chief operating officer Subhan Ahmed confirmed that the board had sent a letter to the ECB.
“Yes, we have written a letter to the ECB asking them what action they have taken against Broad for comments he has made against Ajmal,” Ahmed said. “These comments are distressing for Ajmal, who is upset and wants the ECB to take action.”
