England pace bowler Stuart Broad will miss the entire limited overs leg of the national team’s home series against Sri Lanka due to tendonitis in his knee.

Broad has been struggling with tendonitis since the latter stages of England’s unsuccessful World Twenty20 campaign.

Broad noted that he is looking to be back in an England jersey when the Test series against Sri Lanka gets underway on June 12 at Lord’s.

“I’m running this week and I’m bowling next week,” Broad said. “I’ve had a month without bowling the ball now. You’ve got to build up gradually to make sure I’m 100 per cent ready. We’ve got seven back-to-back Test matches and that’s my aim; I’m not going to make the one-day series. Hopefully I’ll play the seven back-to-back Test matches and then the one-day series against India.”
