The Mumbai Indians have signed West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after Jalaj Saxena sustained an injury.

Saxena injured his finger during a training session, which prompted the IPL technical committee to allow Mumbai to sign Simmons.

Simmons has not been in impressive form as of late as he only scored 88 runs in five matches during the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.

Simmons has yet to represent Mumbai in an IPL game.
