The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have decided to relieve Mohammad Akram from his position as the national team’s bowling coach and reassign him to the National Cricket Academy, where he will assume the role of head coach.
The PCB announced that the decision was taken “in consultation with Mohammad Akram in order to strengthen grass-roots cricket through additional training camps and procedures for upcoming youngsters”.
Akram has also been included in a six-man selection committee, which consists of Moin Khan, Saleem Yousaf, Shoaib Mohammad, Ijaz Ahmed and Wajahatullah Wasti.
There has been no word on who will succeed Akram as Pakistan’s bowling coach.
