Despite the match-fixing scandal that took place in the second edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced that they are keen on hosting a third season of the tournament.
The BCB has also garnered a poor reputation after numerous overseas players received late payments from the owners of the franchises.
However, despite all the problems the BPL has endured, the BCB are looking to hold the third edition of the tournament from November 2014 to January 2015.
“BCB is willing to stage the BPL,” the BPL governing council’s member secretary Ismail Haider Mallick said. “We have selected an approximate date to hold the tournament. We are looking to arrange the tournament between November 2014 and January 2015. However, we of course have to see the international and local cricket’s schedule first.”
