Big Bash League (BBL) franchise, the Melbourne Renegades, have appointed former Australia all-rounder Tom Moody as their director of cricket for the fourth season of the tournament.
The news comes just a few months after Moody was named director of cricket for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
“I’ve admired Tom’s coaching and man-management from afar for many years,” Renegades head coach Simon Helmot said. “Last season I enjoyed the privilege of assisting him at Sunrisers Hyderabad during the Indian Premier League. It was a wonderful learning experience, and one I’m looking forward to repeating when this year’s IPL begins this week.
“To have Tom working with the Renegades as director of cricket is a real boon for the club. It also takes a lot of pressure off me, as coach, and our CEO Stuart Coventry, knowing that this newly-created role will be filled by such a capable T20 tactician.”
