Du Plessis will miss South Africa’s crucial match against England
South Africa Twenty20 captain Faf du Plessis has been suspended for one match due to a slow over-rate during the Proteas’ match against the Netherlands.
This means that Du Plessis will miss South Africa’s World Twenty20 clash against England on March 29.
This is the second instance where Du plessis has maintained a slow over-rate as he and the entire South African team were fined earlier in the tournament.
Du Plessis had to give up 40 per cent of his match fee, while every other member of the team had to cough up 20 per cent of their match fees.
It has been announced that AB de Villiers will take over as captain for the match against England.
