De Kock may get the chance to make his Test debut

South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock has been called up as a cover for opener Alviro Petersen, who is currently battling a viral infection.

If Petersen fails to sufficiently recover prior to the start of the second Test, which gets underway in Port Elizabeth tomorrow, then de Kock may finally get the chance to make his Test debut.

Batsman Dean Elgar is also set to play in the second Test after all-rounder Ryan McLaren was ruled out due to a mild concussion, which he sustained when getting hit in the side of the head by a bouncer from Australia left-arm pace bowler Mitchell Johnson during the first Test in Centurion.
