Bangladesh pace bowler Mashrafe Mortaza will captain the national team during their two-match Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka since regular skipper Mushfiqur Rahim is recovering from a finger injury.

Rahim is expected to be back for the three-match ODI series, which gets underway on February 17 in Mirpur.

It was also announced that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had decided to allow opening batsman Tamim Iqbal to continue on as vice-captain.

The Twenty20 series is scheduled to begin on February 12 in Chittagong.
