Bird injured his back during a BBL match

Australia pace bowler Jackson Bird will join the rest of the national team in South Africa after he was medically cleared of any serious damage to his back, which he injured while representing the Melbourne Stars in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) tournament.

While Bird has been cleared to play for Australia, batsman Shaun Marsh is unlikely to after he picked up a calf injury during the fifth and final ODI against England in Adelaide.

Bird and all-rounder Moises Henriques will fly out to South Africa tomorrow.
