Raman was the Kings XI Punjab’s assistant coach last year

The Kolkata Knight Riders have appointed former India batsman WV Raman as their new batting coach ahead of the 2014 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Raman does have IPL experience as he was the Kings XI Punjab’s assistant coach last year.

Raman represented India in 11 Test matches and 27 ODIs between 1988 and 1997 and is currently the head coach of Tamil Nadu.
