Arafat will undergo surgery later this week

The Perth Scorchers will be without Pakistan pace bowler Yasir Arafat for the remainder of the Big Bash League (BBL) season after he injured his right thumb while fielding during the franchise’s match against the Adelaide Strikers.

It is understood that Arafat ruptured a ligament in his thumb and will undergo surgery later this week.

The news is a huge blow to the Scorchers as Arafat has been their top wicket-taker with 12 wickets. in six matches.
