Pakistan pace bowler Umar Gul is set to make his international comeback after being included in the ODI squad for the last three ODIs against Sri Lanka.

Gul has been out of action for nine months after undergoing surgery on his knee, which he injured in the second ODI against South Africa in Centurion in March.

“The national selection committee in consultation with the tour selection committee has decided to send Umar Gul to UAE as part of national ODI squad,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said. “He will join the Pakistan team on December 22.”

The PCB added that they decided to include Gul in the squad after captain Misbah-ul-Haq expressed his concerns about the team’s pace attack following their two-wicket loss to Sri Lanka in Dubai.
