“Scans revealed no evidence of a fracture”
England pace bowler Stuart Broad will be thanking his lucky stars after scans revealed no fracture in his right foot after he was struck there by Australia left-arm pace bowler Mitchell Johnson during the third day of the third Test in Perth.
Broad admitted yesterday that it was likely there could be a crack of some kind and added that he would bat for England in their second innings if they really needed him to.
“Scans revealed no evidence of a fracture,” the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said via their official Twitter account. “He will continue to receive treatment on his right foot and will be reviewed on a regular basis ahead of the fourth Test.
“He will bat in this current Test if required.”
